



ENB Liedbachtal Bridge, A 1 - Segment-by-Segment Construction
Short description
The existing Liedbachtal Bridge has only a limited operating permit and must be replaced. Once construction is complete, the new bridge will be moved into position using a transverse sliding method.
The project
The ENB Liedbachtal Bridge on the A1 was constructed as a prestressed concrete bridge with a double-walled box girder cross-section.
The structure consists of two superstructures, each approximately 330 m long.
Construction was carried out using the incremental launching method, in which the superstructures were built in sections approximately 30 m long and advanced to their final positions.
This construction method allowed the bridge to be built cost-effectively and with minimal disruption to the surrounding terrain.

Challenges
