Urban Superway

Short description

As part of this order, BBV Systems Co. Ltd. 5,000 tons of reinforcement cages were supplied, which were installed in 47 individual pillars on the 5 km long urban superway project in Adelaide, Australia.

The project

In addition to the manufacture of the reinforcement cages weighing up to 35 tons, the services of BBV Systems also included planning including detailed drawings.

In addition to reinforcement, pipes for drainage, electrical installations, etc. were installed in the baskets at the BBV plant in Bangkok. For the later assembly of the various baskets on the construction site, the relevant reinforcement ends were provided with screw sockets at the factory.

After production, which took place entirely in Bangkok, the finished baskets were transported by sea freight to the construction site in Adelaide.

The advantages of this approach: time savings during installation and thus lower costs. In addition, by purchasing all the raw materials at the start of the project, BBV can offer a fixed price for the entire duration of the project. The customer was also able to convince himself of this and confirmed that the BBV system for high-quality reinforcement prefabrication made a significant contribution to accelerating the work and was a much more cost-effective alternative to braiding the baskets on the construction site.
