Arendt House

Short description

Along the J.F. Kennedy Boulevards in Luxembourg Kirchberg, the new “ARENDT HAUS” office building was built.

The project

The design for the 5-storey building with approx. 18,000 m² of office space comes from the architects Diener & Diener, and the law firm 'Arendt & Medernach' has been using most of this space since its completion.

BBV Systems manufactured over 4,000 monostrand tendons (type BBV L1P) for the prestressing of the 5 ceilings. Due to the limited space on the construction site, the tendons were prefabricated in the BBV factory in Bobenheim-Roxheim, i.e. the strands were cut to length, marked, partially stripped and the fixed anchors were installed.

To transport the tendons to the construction site and to ensure quick and easy installation, the tendons were wound on drums. According to the customer's specifications, the deliveries were made shortly before the tendons were installed in order to take into account the limited storage space on site. The pre-tensioning was applied by BBV Systems staff after each slab section had been concreted.
