LNG Tank, Lysekil

By order of Skangass, the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Scandinavia was build in Lysekil on the west coast of Sweden, approx. 60 km north of Göteborg.

Skangass supplies up to 200,000 t of LNG annually to the nearby Preem refinery using the terminal. The terminal is also both an integrated semi-truck loading station for easy transport of LNG to the inland as well as be able to refuel ships with LNG as their fuel. The prestressing of the concrete container, which surrounds the steel tank, is carried out using horizontal BBV L19 tendons, each of which run half the diameter of the tank and are anchored to pilaster strips; it also includes BBV L9 vertical loop tendons.
