Randersacker Main river bridge, Germany

In the course of expanding the Autobahn A3 (Frankfurt-Nuremberg), substantial damage necessitated reconstruction of the bridge over the Main river near Würzburg-Randersacker. The "Mainbrücke Randersacker" bridge spans 540 m passing over the Main river, a railway, a trunk road and two state roads.

The construction works on the new bridge began in July 2007. Next to the old bridge, the superstructure for the road leading to Frankfurt was completed at the end of 2008.

Once traffic was diverted over the new structure, the old bridge was demolished and the Würzburg-bound lane was built.
All bridges are prestressed both length and widthwise (length: BBV L 15 and 19; width: BBV Lo4). External tendons of the type EMR 17 were also used.

The work was completed at the end of 2011.
