The first phase of a replacement bridge works near Habichtswald, Germany (District - Leeden, Region - Tecklenburg) for the Road Authority Münster, have now been completed for the traffic in the direction of Bremen.
The bridge construction was undertaken using incremental launching techniques, and performed in 11 stages (nominal length per stage - 24m). The structure has a combined length of 252m.
The box girder of the bridge incorporates both the BBV L9 and BBV L15 internal tendons, which following stressing works is injected with a cement grout. Additionally, BBV L19 external tendons are installed to the interior of the box girder, which are filled with a corrosion protection mass.
Post tensioning works commenced in December 2016 with the first phase of works completed in May 2017. The construction works for the second phase of the works, for the traffic in the direction of Münster are expected to begin in 2018.
