Tiefgarage Luitpoldplatz Bayreuth

Short description

Renovation of the underground car park.

The project

Location and access

The Luitpoldplatz underground car park is centrally located in Bayreuth and, together with several underground car parks, connects the building complexes of the Sparkasse, Bayernwerke, E.ON Energie and the New Town Hall above. Access is via both Luitpoldplatz and Kanalstrasse.

The construction

This part of the underground car park was built in 1967 and extends over 3000 m².

The redevelopment concept

The areas to be protected with cathodic corrosion protection include the reinforcement in the entire floor slab, in all wall bases (protection area 0.00 to 0.50 m above the top floor) and at the gates in the area of the joints of the reinforced concrete walls.

KKS

To protect the reinforcement in the floor slab, a grid-like anode with a possible discharge rate of approx. 40 mA / m² was provided. Using this anode network ensures that enough protective current can flow through the screed (d = up to 8cm) to reinforce the floor slab.

4 expanded metal strips were used to protect the reinforcement in the wall bases. In the joint areas of the reinforced concrete walls, rod anodes with an active length of 20 cm were drilled in at a distance of 25 cm on both sides of the joint. The rod anodes were installed over the entire height. So 4 rod anode chains were installed for a passage.
