Cautin River Bridge

Short description

In the south of Chile the Cautin River runs along the city of Temuco, the capital of the region de la Araucania with approx. 240,000 inhabitants.

The project

In 2020, in the north of Temuco, near Cajon, the approx. 300 m long Cautin River Bridge was built, which crosses both the Cautin River and the Temuco-Santiago railway line. The 7-span prestressed concrete bridge was built by the ConPax company with single-span girders. The BBV L12 system according to ETA-05/0202 was used for prestressing steel work; the work was carried out by BBV’s local partner specialist company Postec Spa.
